Installation technicians required to install Emergency Warning and Intercommunication Systems, unfamiliar with the I2000 or those technicians new to the fire industry
This course provides theory in the form of an overview of basic principles of operation, requirements of EWIS codes that the installation must comply with, and the requisite requirements of I200 installation. This course also concentrates on the practical installation requirements of demo I2000 equipment, including speaker, strobe and paging console wiring.
1 day: 8.00am – 4.00pm
A component of this course is PC based and as such attendees must be able to open, save, copy, paste, rename, set-up directories and folders in a Windows operating system environment without assistance. Attendees do require a PC equipped with a serial port or working USB serial adapter. Attendees should have appropriate user access to permit software installation.
Attendees will be able to;
identify the various I200 modules and cards by sight;
understand the module / card function and wiring requirements;
identify the location of installation support information in I200 manuals;
conduct field checks to verify module operation voltage, view LEDs etc.;
understand I2000 Configuration sheets;
Install and wire field devices to a I2000;
Perform ECP chip changes;
Perform basic fault finding to verify module operation;
Use a PC to download a configuration database into a I2000.
